Michelle's at Summer Camp!
Sunday I dropped Michelle at Long Lake Camp, in the Aidirondack mountains. She will be dancing, singing, taking guitar, painting, and having a lot of fun, I hope. At least it's 10 degrees cooler than DC.

Today was my last day in Frankfurt. I went to the symphony, and saw a moving performance of Bernstein's 3rd symphony. https://www.alteoper.de/de/programm/veranstaltung.php?id=512510818 What was remarkable was that the program included a performance of the symphony with a Kaddish, performed by the author Samuel Pisar. Pisar is a survivor of Auschwitz, whose parents and sister were killed by the Nazis. He stood and recited a mighty prayer which was set with the music, and it was astonishing. I just realized he's 89. The Kaddish was a brutal indictment of violence and a rant against, and ultimately reconciliation with, God. It was recited in English, but both the English and German were projected above the stage. The German audience gave the performance an 5-10 minute ovation. The performance was in the Alte Oper, which was destroyed during WWII but rebuilt in the 1960s. Quite a wonderful evening.

Headed to Deutschland Sunday night. Before that -- dinner at Range, and drop the girls at the Fault in Our Stars movie; Bat Mitzvah; Ballet Recital. Can't wait.

Mother's Day
Love my family and their mother's day gifts -- a beautiful necklace, a dinner out, and the thoughtfulness of planning it all.

New York City
In NYC May 7-9. Stayed at Affinia Manhattan. Huge thunderstorm last night.
Thrilled to see Book of Mormon with Ben Platt from Pitch Perfect.
